3g Phones

3G Phones Is it the next generation already?
In recent months, there has been a virtual avalanche of 3G smartphones from all the different mobile phone players. And now the situation is such that before you are able to say ‘3G’ you will be handed over another ten new phones that have arrived just yesterday with one of them having surfaced only today. But why have 3G phone at all in the first place?
Well,
3G Phones
refer to those smartphone handsets that are designed in such a way that they are hardware and software wise compatible enough to operate smoothly under what are known as third generation network environment. Compatibility with 3G networks mean, you have a handset that is capable of giving you much faster mobile internet connectivity and a few other functions carried out in greater efficiency than what was the situation in the case of 2G phones. In other words 3G smartphones are more ’smart(er) than their 2G counterparts. And by the same logic turn out to be less `smart’ than their next generation cousins– the 4G smartphones.
HTC Corporation, the Taiwanese mobile phone maker is the rightful claimant of producing both the first ever 3G smartphone in the HTC Desire and the first ever 4G smartphone in the HTC Evo 4G. He Evo 4G, incidentally, is yet to be released in the UK. And this is because of not want of stock or the required will on the part of the manufacturer. But this delay is due to the required fourth generation network infrastrucuture in the UK.
But all the same, we have done exceedingly well when it comes to 3G network infrastrucuture. In fact, it was in March, 2003 that commercial 3G network services were introduced in the UK as well as Italy. The Eurpean Union Council then wanted that the 3G infrastrucuture should be made available to 80 per cent of the populations by 2005. This deadline by the look of things has been met.
Beside, the HTC Desire, the Apple Iphone 4.0, Samsung Galaxy S, Motorola Defy, LG Optimus 7, Nokia E7, and so many more recent smartphones like the HTC 7 Mozart, Nokia N8, the entire Galaxy series of smartphones from Samsung, are all good examples of fine 3G handsets,

When a Stranger Calls $3.89 The smartest thing about the remake of When a Stranger Calls is that it strips the original 1979 version to its bare essentials as a primal exercise in stormy-night terror. While taking the original film’s suspenseful first act and expanding it into an 87-minute cat-and-mouse game, screenwriter Jake Wade Wall adds a few clever updates involving cellphones and home-security services, as well as the… |
